4th November. Cat's Claws Pulled Out

In a week that has seen all that is bad in the world of birding laid bare for even common non-birding types to guffaw at, it comes as a great shock that every birders favourite feline has expired.

Things were clearly amiss earlier in the week when the cat showed little signs of life at BBC4's offering. By Wednesday and following the revelations that the Scillies sharpie was just a midget sprawk even a faint meow could not be heard.

Like those birding satarists before it, the Cat has shuffled off some might say at it's peak, others might not.

Perhaps like the Llama and Sir Mckinney of Glossop, the cat will make a comeback. After all don't cats have nine lives?

I don't know, no stamina some people. But I suppose that's the 'modern way' - explode on to the scene, churn out the material for a year, get the book out there and then disappear.

I prefer the 'Last of the Summer Wine' approach myself - not really funny in the first place and still going years after you should have been quietly put down.

That's right Andy. This blog might be shit, but it'll still be shit in years to come.

Obviously when I said 'you', I didn't mean you in particular. I was including myself in that category!

Maybe Mr.White just thought that it wasn't worth his time....and to an extent i guess it depends on what his original motivations were to produce the cats site....

Must have been a bit of a chore turning out the material, especially when he wasn't getting any dosh for it...? Perhaps he will appear in the new birdingblog thingy should he be invited to contribute.

Be good in the future to see the birding equivalent of a 'Private Eye' type publication...[would need a decent circulation tho to make it pay]...NotBB didn't last too long...did it...?..[i can't remember now]...being a forgetful old fucker...

Perhaps the real world of birding has become 'funnier' than anything a blogger could ever come up with. Given the full range of Autistic Spectrum Disorder displayed by people speaking their brains on Bird Forum of late and that surreal plea for help shown by the BBC the other day, it must be hard to compete!

Mr White must be from the generation that feels it's better to burn out than fade away...

Actually Tim, I think you're a very good candidate to have been Mr White, or at least to have had some involvement in Reservoir Cats ..... any comment?

Darrell I'm sure Tom's not Mr White, but there does appear to have been more than one individual involved!

Tim. You were my prime suspect but now I'm not sure.

On the whole...i think it best that Mr.White's identity should be kept a secret within his 'inner circle'...

ps...good birding to you Mr.White...whoever you are....!

Its been a fuckin chuckle....

Yours faithfully...Beast
