1st February. White Rabbits

Blimey managed 3 consecutive days with some birding. A brisk walk round the Main Lake at RV.
produced nothing of note except 22 Great Crested Grebes and the female Pintail on the Reserve.

Shame the fatbirder ranking has gone down just when the birding content (and pie eating) has gone up.Keep up the good work Mark. Btw, the cormorant looks like a sinensis and reminds me that I didn't check the local ones yet.Always something to do, even in the quietest local patch.BR, Mike

Thanks Mike. Yes it would appear that you have to court controversy to get up in the rankings. It always amazes me that it gets within the top 300 - there must be some real boring buggers out there ;)

Well there's me for a start;) Go on, throw some more pies at twitching's loony left or better still, the maiming brigade. Seriously though, check no. 2 in the fat birder rankings, Sharon Stiteler's birding blog. A girl who is actually interested in gulls. I was sceptical when I first saw the title but clicked and wow! It's actually pretty good and puts my t.b.d.w. to shame. BR, Mike
