22nd October: Pie within a pie



I have just eaten an amazing Sausage Roll Pie a new creation by the very talented Kerrie. It would be unfair to rate this one as it truly is well off the scale. Basically it is a puff pastry pie filled with mini sausage rolls which are filled with a secret sausage mix- bliss.

Flaky Pastry...shouldn't be allowed to be mentioned in terms of savoury pies. All it's good for is fruit based turnovers such as apple or raspberry.

Sorry, I must be suffering from pastry withdrawal. Even getting a pasty on Scilly proved nigh on impossible, friends went to St Agnes specially for a Turk's Head pasty and dipped, they were unable to drown their sorrows as the pub stopped serving at 3pm. Scilly is dead these days.
